san patricio pipeline overview

The San Patricio Pipeline project is being developed by Occidental Energy Ventures Corp., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE: OXY). Occidental is a world leader in oil and natural gas exploration and production and a major North American chemical manufacturer.

The San Patricio Pipeline project is intended to provide a reliable and economic means of transporting up to one billion standard cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of natural gas from the Ingleside Energy Center LNG Import Terminal. Natural gas will be delivered through the San Patricio Pipeline to as many as nine interstate and intrastate pipelines for further transportation to markets across the United States and into Mexico.

Through these interconnection points, San Patricio Pipeline will provide access to incremental gas supplies for numerous local distribution companies, electric generation facilities and industrial end users. The new source of natural gas delivered by San Patricio Pipeline will help meet U.S. demand with minimal impact on the surrounding communities and the environment.

San Patricio Pipeline received its Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity on July 22, 2005 and plans for implementation and construction of the project are in progress.
